Once a floor has been completely sanded it is extremely porous & requires finishing with lacquer (varnish) or oil to protect it. Lacquer is the most practical, attractive & hard wearing, way to finish a floor & necessitates the least maintenance all round.  The quality of the seal that goes onto your floor is perhaps the most important part of the entire sanding process.

Lacquer functions by sealing the 'pores' of the wood (the first coat), with each subsequent coat building up another layer of wear resistance whilst at the same time makes the tone of the wood more attractive. 

Finishes & Seals: Protecting Your Floor

Lacquers are available in varying levels of 'sheen' typically Matt, Satin and Gloss.  Our quality seals protect the finished wood, offering a stain resistant durable finish that will last years with the  correct maintainence. The finishes we use are low odour and eco-friendly, normally using water based lacquer and natural hard wax oils.

We have many years of experience with various manufactures; Bonakemi, Osmo and Becka Acroma are currently our preferred choice as they offer an excellent product range, their after-sales backup is excellent and we have a very good working relationship with them!
